About the event

Get to know this 6.5-mile out-and-back trail near Flower Mound, Texas. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 2 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking and horseback riding, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.

This trail may experience flooding and temporarily close- for more information, please visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CTETA.org/

An easy trail with gentle slopes and some creek crossings. Bridges and exposed concrete may spook unaccustomed horses. The beginning section of the trail is shared with mountain bikers.

This trail traverses the prairies at the lake's northwest corner. From early spring through late summer, wildflowers abound, while during the fall, migrating birds and waterfowl can be seen on the upper end of the lake. Open with some wooded stretches. Occasional thorn trees near the trail, so beware. Flooded conditions may result in bogs and quicksand along the lakeshore.

With warmer weather, please pack accordingly, especially water, sunscreen, and bug repellent.
